13th Moon Games Presents

Everyone knows there’s magic in the world
The Game
A unique 2d12 roleplaying game of magic and mystery set in a world where magic, witches, supernatural creatures, magical animals and more exist. Easy to learn and streamlined so that players can get back to the story.

The shiny exterior of wealth, glamour, and business is powered by the rough and tumble streets.

The Setting
Chicago of Coven & Crucible mixes 1930s Prohibition, 1970s expansion and 2020s technology into a setting like no other. Players can have their characters explore from Rogers Park to South Chicago and all the neighborhoods in between. From ghosts to genus loci to the various hippogriff hybris that stalk to alleyways, the likelihood of running into something “other” is not zero. In a city as old and populated as Chicago there is no shortage of ghosts.
Coming soon! Coven & Crucible: Beyond will contain an additional 10 cities for players to explore. Beyond will expand the lens of Coven & Crucible beyond Western Europe and the United States. It will also include a new plane of existence, six new player character templates for supernatural creatures, and so much more!
Anyone can be a witch, but it takes knowledge and discipline
Praise For Coven & Crucible
C&C has a magical setting that allows me to deeply customize my character. The system is both easy to use and has fun surprises the further a player progresses.

C&C is a wonderful new addition to the Urban Fantasy game genre. All of us enjoy a good Urban Fantasy world but very few games give us that world to play in. I really enjoy the setting and look forward to playing in it more. The 2d12 system is simple and very thematic to the system and very easy to understand. Overall a great system and setting.
– Michael G
I love this system. I love how flexible it is to be able to do just about anything you can come up with. The setting is deep and has lots of built in hooks with houses, crucibles, and nps for players to explore.
– Alia F
Coven & Crucible is a game with room for a lot of different play-styles, and the setting is familiar enough to jump in easily but still offers a ton of depth. And who doesn’t want to be John Wick with magic?

The Books
The Team

roach writes the setting and story aspects of Coven & Crucible. She is also an author of pagan and witchcraft books. Her books (Sew Witchy, The Scent of Lemon & Rosemary, and The Witch’s Wardrobe are all published by Llewellyn Worldwide under the name Raechel Henderson).

Stephan Kelly created Coven & Crucible‘s unique 2d12 mechanics. Stephan Kelly is a pagan and a life-long table top role playing game player and storyteller (ST/DM). He is also a golden retriever in human form.

Art Goblin Charlotte created the art used throughout Coven & Crucible. She is roach and Stephan’s daughter. She recently graduated from high school and is taking a gap year before starting college. She has been making art all her life and it is her lifelong passion.
About 13th Moon Games
Established in 2023, 13th Moon Games originated on Thanksgiving of 2021 when roach asked Stephan if he wanted to take their relationship to the next level by writing a table top role playing game together. The motivation, for roach, was to create a game that she could run for Stephan, a forever DM.
The two of worked on creating Coven & Crucible, spending all of 2022 running playtests and honing the game. They had an unsuccessful Kickstarter in June of that year which taught them a lot and they took those lessons to heart when they relaunched the Kickstarter in January of 2023. That campaign was successful and saw not only the creation of a TTRPG of modern witchcraft and magic but the birth of 13th Moon Games.
